NSW Election - Is Your Local Candidate Investing in Our Future?

Australian Childcare Alliance NSW (formerly Child Care New South Wales) has released its policy priorities for the 28 March 2015 State Election.  We are calling for: 

  • Delayed implementation of changes to educator:child ratios;
  • Reduced fees for Certificate III and Diploma Qualifications;
  • Coordinated, strategic planning for early childhood education and care; and
  • Preschool funding for all children, including those in long day care.
The Baird Government, NSW Labor, NSW Greens and the Christian Democratic Party have provided their responses on each of the above issues.  Click here to view their responses.

Productivity Commission Inquiry

The final report on the Productivity Commission Inquiry into Childcare and Early Childhood Learning was submitted to the Federal Government 31 October 2014.  The Federal Government now has up to 25 sitting days to table the report in Parliament, which may mean it is not released until March 2015.

2014 Pay Summaries

The 2014 Pay Summaries, which contain rates of pay under the Children’s Services Award 2010 and the·Education Services (Teachers) Award 2010, are now available to members. Online Training

Child Care New South Wales works closely with TAFE NSW Open Training and Education Network (OTEN) in offering discounted training units of study of importance to early childhood education and care services.  In addition to the discounted online child protection training we have been offering since 2012, we now have three new online courses available, with discounts for Child Care New South Wales members.  As outlined in the Online Training page of our website, you can now complete online training in Sustainability ($195 for members), Cultural Competence ($195 for members) and Working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People ($295 for members).
