Productivity Commission Inquiry

New Immunisation Requirements Now Apply
Following amendments to the Public Health Act 2010 made last year, new immunisation requirements for early childhood education and care services commenced 1 January 2014.
All members should have received a copy of the Immunisation Enrolment Toolkit for Early Childhood Education and Care Services from NSW Health. The toolkit includes information on the changes to the Public Health Act 2010; exemptions (including the fact that these changes do not apply to children attending before and after school care); samples of the paperwork you are now required to obtain for new enrolments; a sample parent enrolment letter; information on overseas records; information on the NSW immunisation schedule from 1 July 2013; an online immunisation register template; information on vaccine preventable diseases; and what you should do in certain scenarios. The toolkit also includes information on a number of useful resources related to immunisation.
You can click here to access an online version, which you can print or bookmark for future reference. We have also posted links to the toolkit on our Facebook page and via our Twitter account, which you are welcome to share with your families.
